A Playbook for Scaling Repair and Resale in Fashion

 

The UK fashion and textile industry is at a critical inflection point where the traditional linear model is no longer tenable. For the modern fashion leader, circular business models (CBMs), particularly repair and resale, are no longer a peripheral concern but a significant commercial and strategic imperative. This playbook makes the case that CBMs represent a critical pathway to business resilience, a powerful engine for customer loyalty, and an essential lever for achieving net zero ambitions.

Introducing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for Textiles & Fashion in the UK Report

 

The British Fashion Council (BFC) commissioned this paper on behalf of the Circular Fashion Innovation Network (CFIN) to support policy development for the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for fashion and textiles in the UK – a Textiles EPR (tEPR). It is intended to amplify discussions held at the March 2025 Institute of Positive Fashion Forumi, complement CFIN’s May 2025 Programme Report, and is timed to support the work of the Government’s Circularity Economy Taskforce, due to report in autumn 2025.

CFIN Report 2025: Accelerating the UK Towards a Circular Fashion Ecosystem

 

The Circular Fashion Innovation Network (CFIN) presents its landmark report detailing two years of industry-led collaboration to accelerate the UK's transition to a circular fashion ecosystem. Led by the British Fashion Council (BFC) and UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) in partnership with UK Research and Innovation, CFIN has successfully mobilised the fashion and textiles industry toward a circular future.
